The Good Mama Program is a community initiative dedicated to supporting young mothers—especially those aged 30 and under—through encouragement, essential resources, and personal growth. We serve expectant mothers and mothers with children up to age 3 living in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Our program provides personalized home-style visits and mentorship to ensure moms have the emotional support, guidance, and parenting resources they need.

We offer baby essentials distributions where families can receive free diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, and more—helping to ease the financial and emotional pressures of early parenthood. We also provide parenting education, early childhood activities, and life skills training, along with connections to trusted local services for healthcare, housing, and family support.

But we go beyond diapers and bottles. Good Mama is here to uplift, empower, and inspire. We focus on building self-esteem, encouraging self-advocacy, and reminding every mother that she is capable, worthy, and never alone. Through mentorship, peer support, and compassionate guidance, we help moms grow not just as parents, but as confident, thriving women.

At Good Intentions Foundation, we believe that when you support a mother, you strengthen a family—and when you strengthen families, you build stronger communities.

What We Offer

  • Emotional Wellness & Resilience
Through self-confidence and identity workshops, regular mental health check-ins, and one-on-one mentorship, moms build emotional strength while learning to advocate for themselves and their families. At the same time, babies benefit from nurturing environments that promote security and healthy attachment.

  • Parent-Child Bonding & Early Development
We encourage meaningful interactions that deepen the mother-baby bond. Activities like sensory play, baby massage, and storytime help babies reach key milestones while giving moms hands-on tools to connect, comfort, and support their child’s growth.

  • Health, Safety & Care Education
Moms receive essential guidance on infant nutrition, safe sleep practices, and age-appropriate development. This knowledge supports confident parenting and healthy outcomes for both mother and baby.

  • Life Skills & Future Planning
With career training, financial literacy, and access to education, moms gain the tools they need to create lasting change. These opportunities foster independence and stability, allowing them to build a better future for themselves and their children.

  • Home-Style Support & Connection
Our home-visiting-style approach brings care directly to families, reducing isolation and offering personalized, compassionate support. It reinforces learning, builds trust, and helps moms and babies feel seen, heard, and valued.

Good Mama Means:

  • A mother who is confident, capable, and cared for

  • A baby who is safe, supported, and steadily growing

  • A family built on love, learning, and lasting strength
