Good Intentions Foundation, Working Alongside Youth in Our Communities

The Good Intentions Foundation Youth Advisory Council (YAC) reflects our commitment to working with young people, not just for them. We partner directly with youth to shape the programs, priorities, and initiatives that affect their lives and their community.

Our Approach

Good Intentions Foundation believes that lasting change happens when young people are treated as partners, not just participants. The Youth Advisory Council is how we put that belief into practice — creating an ongoing space where youth and Foundation staff work side-by-side on program design, community priorities, and outreach.

What This Partnership Looks Like

  • Co-designing programs — youth help shape initiatives like G.R.O.W.T.H. and other Foundation programming, rather than just attending them

  • Community needs assessment — youth input directly informs where and how the Foundation focuses its work

  • Cross-sector representation — youth voices are brought into conversations with schools, local government, and community partners

  • Ongoing dialogue — regular touchpoints between youth and Foundation leadership to review what's working and what needs to change

Alignment with the GOC ENOUGH Initiative

This model of working alongside youth reflects the core approach of Maryland's ENOUGH Grant Program — building sustainable, cross-sector partnerships where community voice, especially youth voice, drives local planning and implementation.
