Youth Advisory Council
Good Intentions Foundation, Working Alongside Youth in Our Communities
The Good Intentions Foundation Youth Advisory Council (YAC) reflects our commitment to working with young people, not just for them. We partner directly with youth to shape the programs, priorities, and initiatives that affect their lives and their community.
Youth voice.
Shared leadership.
Community impact.
The Good Intentions Foundation Youth Advisory Council (YAC) creates an ongoing space for young people to work alongside Foundation leadership, share their perspectives, shape programs, and help guide community-centered solutions.
Working with youth, not just for them.
Good Intentions Foundation believes lasting community change happens when young people are treated as partners, not simply participants. Through YAC, youth and Foundation staff work side-by-side to exchange ideas, identify community priorities, and strengthen programs that serve young people and families.
Co-Design Programs
Youth help shape initiatives, activities, outreach, and program experiences rather than only attending them.
Bring Youth Voice Forward
Members share perspectives on community needs and help Good Intentions understand what young people are experiencing.
Build Partnerships
Youth voices can be part of conversations with schools, local government, community organizations, and other partners.
Grow as Leaders
Members strengthen communication, teamwork, civic engagement, decision-making, and leadership through real participation.
A year of conversation, action & leadership.
YAC is an ongoing youth partnership—not a one-time event. Members have regular opportunities to contribute ideas, review what is working, identify what can improve, participate in community activities, and help Good Intentions Foundation make youth-informed decisions.
Community Needs
Youth input helps identify needs, priorities, gaps, and opportunities affecting young people and families.
Program Planning
Members can offer feedback on youth programming, events, outreach strategies, and community engagement.
Civic & Community Exposure
YAC provides opportunities to learn how nonprofits, government, schools, and community partners work together.
Ongoing Dialogue
Regular touchpoints create space for youth and Foundation leadership to listen, learn, and make adjustments together.
Aligned with the ENOUGH Initiative.
YAC supports Good Intentions Foundation’s commitment to community-driven planning by ensuring youth voice is part of the conversation. Young people bring lived experience, ideas, and perspective that can strengthen cradle-to-career strategies, partnerships, and local decision-making.
